Estelle Flower + Charmaine Reveley & Co

A studio shoot is a simple but strong way to tell a story. It puts the spotlight on a person or products, and allows them to really shine. We collaborated with a few our favourite businesses to bring our backdrops to life; local Dunedin fashion designer Charmaine Reveley, talented florist Estelle Flowers, New Zealand footwear brand Kathryn Wilson, and the brilliant Kyle from Crave Hair Dunedin. Jana modelled the dreamy, feminine looks perfectly with the bouquets and made us feel ready for spring!

We are so excited to present a wide variety of studio backdrops and provide more than just the basics. The Acorn Studio has your classic range of neutrals, as well as an array of gorgeous, punchy colours. We encourage you think outside the box and embrace colours, as it can bring a new perspective, a fresh look or create the vibe that you need

Carmen Huter

We jumped into a caravan and drove off for an adventure with creative and travel photographer, Carmen Huter. The two days were full of chatter, giggles, gorgeous landscapes and of course, a plenty of snaps! We went off the grid and into nature, exploring beautiful places like Fiordland, New Zealand. Finding some hidden spots in Knobs Flat, we settled down and made ourselves comfortable in the tussocks.

It was the perfect location for a creative portrait shoot. The scenery was amazing, but it was Carmen’s energy and ability to work with the elements that brought it to life. We played amongst the fields and waded into the river. Water played a winning part, where the splashes and waves added exciting and enchanting movement to the photos.

Give yourself an excuse to have your portrait taken, whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, life achievement or simply because you’re feeling it! We are proud to be New Zealanders and know a few special spots and stunning backdrops. If you are looking to capture some memories with a New Zealand portrait photographer, get in touch with us!

Corcovado + Rouche

We love the challenge in storytelling when it comes to commercial and fashion photography. Playing with not only clothing and location, there are also moods, expressions and personalities to capture. This studio shoot channelled cool Scandinavian vibes with a glamourous edge.

Corcovado, a specialist homewares and furniture store based in Christchurch, New Zealand, set the scene with their unique and distinctive products. Rouche Clothing, a luxury fashion boutique, styled our model in gorgeous local and international brands; the elegant Miss Crabb Berlin dress in white silk, the edgy Maurice Jacket by Nue 10.04, and the lovely Loretta Dress by Karen Walker. These two businesses worked hand-in-hand, and together we produced some beautiful imagery perfect for social media, website and print.

If you are a Christchurch-based business looking for a Christchurch photographer or cinematographer for your next project, get in touch with us and see how we can work together.

Avoca 17

A Queenstown winter is a must-have experience in New Zealand. We helped Avoca tell this story in our second campaign shoot with the New Zealand made brand. It was amazing to work with them again, as we felt connected to their passion and purpose, and collaborated closely on the concept and execution of the shoot.

Their Winter 2017/18 collection was inspired by, and designed for an alpine getaway. Something to keep you sheltered from the elements, but feeling effortless, comfortable and luxe in any scene. There were misty scenes at Moke Lake, and we shot as day turned dark on Coronet Peak. A morning walk along the Shotover River was followed by a cosy, relaxed afternoon at the lodge. A perfect little holiday, if you ask us.

Novia Brides

Novia Brides is the perfect boutique for something a little bit special, and a little bit different. Tucked in Hawea Flat, Wanaka, the scenic drive will get you into a relaxed, inspired mood. Walk through the doors and you’ll instantly be in dress heaven; their romantic, bohemian, couture dresses will be sure to make you swoon.

We spent an afternoon amongst the luxe silks and lace, mesmerized by the delicate details and gorgeous shapes. Along with the perfect bridal hair and makeup looks, a collection of gorgeous floral bouquets and to-die-for accessories, we were all wishfully thinking about walking down the aisle (for some, again!).

Granada - Spain

With sangria at every meal, and a siesta every afternoon, how could you not love Spain? Granada was a very aesthetically pleasing, and historic experience. We jumped on a walking tour with a very enthusiastic guide, bought Spanish cookies from nuns through a church trapdoor, and watched a flamenco dance as the sun slowly set over the city.

A highlight of Granada was definitely the must-see Alhambra, a Moorish complex with a beautiful garden, breathtaking palace and historic monuments. We spent a whole day here, getting lost in grounds and palace chambers. My two friends made perfect models, as I had them standing in pockets of light and pretty corners and corridors. We had the best day there, running our energy and camera batteries flat.

Queenstown - Isabella & Johan

Isabella and Johan were married on the prettiest autumn day in Arrowtown. The leaves were the perfect shades of amber and gold, the air was crisp, and as they walked out of the church, all eyes were on them. Drawing a crowd, the pair were absolutely stunning against the backdrop of the charming town. Their intimate reception took place in the stunning Stoneridge Estate, Queenstown. Amid the vineyards and gardens, the setting was rustic and romantic, which was a perfect match to Isabella and Johan’s love story.

Venice - Italy

I fell in love with Venice on the 6th of July, 2017. Beyond the sticky heat and crowds of tourists, it was definitely love at first sight. The slightly sinking buildings, painted in gorgeous pastel and muted shades, kept my camera constantly clicking. Boutiques were tucked amongst bakeries, gelaterias scattered around monuments and museums. There was something to see around every corner.

We jumped on the vaporetto and jetted off the main island to Burano and Murano. Known as one of the world’s most colourful destinations, Burano certainly did not disappoint! The bright shades were so much fun, and many of the houses were decorated to a theme. Arriving in the afternoon, Murano was a little more peaceful, with little shops filled with Venetian glass.

One morning, we decided to beat the heat and tourists, and woke up for the sunrise. The streets were perfectly peaceful and undeniably beautiful, and we saw Venice in a very different light. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, as although I was a little sleep, I was inspired at every canal and alley.

Samoa Tarapuhi & George

Day 1

Have a look into Tarapuhi and George’s love story. Adventurous, outgoing, warm, kind, confident, and happiest in each other's arms, Tarapuhi and George are a couple who help each other grow, encourage each other to better, and bring out the best in one another.

Celebrating their heritage and culture, this wedding takes place amongst the flora and fauna of Samoa, shared with their nearest and dearest. Lush island scenes provided a gorgeously green, natural backdrop to the festivities.

The wedding day was full of joy, laughter, song and dance, featuring a special first dance by the bride and groom. The next few days, we took it to the pool, waterfalls, and forest, creating and collecting memories with the couple and their friends.

We had an unforgettable week capturing their wedding and family getaway in Samoa. You could truly feel the love and happiness every second of the day.
