Granada - Spain

With sangria at every meal, and a siesta every afternoon, how could you not love Spain? Granada was a very aesthetically pleasing, and historic experience. We jumped on a walking tour with a very enthusiastic guide, bought Spanish cookies from nuns through a church trapdoor, and watched a flamenco dance as the sun slowly set over the city.

A highlight of Granada was definitely the must-see Alhambra, a Moorish complex with a beautiful garden, breathtaking palace and historic monuments. We spent a whole day here, getting lost in grounds and palace chambers. My two friends made perfect models, as I had them standing in pockets of light and pretty corners and corridors. We had the best day there, running our energy and camera batteries flat.

Queenstown - Isabella & Johan

Isabella and Johan were married on the prettiest autumn day in Arrowtown. The leaves were the perfect shades of amber and gold, the air was crisp, and as they walked out of the church, all eyes were on them. Drawing a crowd, the pair were absolutely stunning against the backdrop of the charming town. Their intimate reception took place in the stunning Stoneridge Estate, Queenstown. Amid the vineyards and gardens, the setting was rustic and romantic, which was a perfect match to Isabella and Johan’s love story.

Venice - Italy

I fell in love with Venice on the 6th of July, 2017. Beyond the sticky heat and crowds of tourists, it was definitely love at first sight. The slightly sinking buildings, painted in gorgeous pastel and muted shades, kept my camera constantly clicking. Boutiques were tucked amongst bakeries, gelaterias scattered around monuments and museums. There was something to see around every corner.

We jumped on the vaporetto and jetted off the main island to Burano and Murano. Known as one of the world’s most colourful destinations, Burano certainly did not disappoint! The bright shades were so much fun, and many of the houses were decorated to a theme. Arriving in the afternoon, Murano was a little more peaceful, with little shops filled with Venetian glass.

One morning, we decided to beat the heat and tourists, and woke up for the sunrise. The streets were perfectly peaceful and undeniably beautiful, and we saw Venice in a very different light. I would definitely recommend this to anyone, as although I was a little sleep, I was inspired at every canal and alley.

Samoa Tarapuhi & George

Day 1

Have a look into Tarapuhi and George’s love story. Adventurous, outgoing, warm, kind, confident, and happiest in each other's arms, Tarapuhi and George are a couple who help each other grow, encourage each other to better, and bring out the best in one another.

Celebrating their heritage and culture, this wedding takes place amongst the flora and fauna of Samoa, shared with their nearest and dearest. Lush island scenes provided a gorgeously green, natural backdrop to the festivities.

The wedding day was full of joy, laughter, song and dance, featuring a special first dance by the bride and groom. The next few days, we took it to the pool, waterfalls, and forest, creating and collecting memories with the couple and their friends.

We had an unforgettable week capturing their wedding and family getaway in Samoa. You could truly feel the love and happiness every second of the day.

Day 2

Tarapuhi & George - Pool Shoot

Tarapuhi and George were naturals in the water. Tucked amongst the palm trees, the secluded pool was an island oasis which became the setting of our creative shoot. We captured the couple diving, floating, splashing and swimming- spending quality time together and having a laugh along the way. The scene made for some sweet memories and surreal shots of the couple, and we loved that their shoot was an experience that felt ‘normal’, yet special to them. A perfect example doing something you enjoy in your creative shoot, while making it unique to you.

Thailand Chelsea & Kirk

When in Thailand, it’s a given that some time is spent at the beach or by the pool. With the sun shining, there’s no better way to cool down than with the water. Chelsea and Kirk tied the knot with a beach wedding, and at the end of the night they spontaneously jumped straight into the pool! The next day, we did it all again. Embracing the ‘Drown the Gown’ movement, the couple dove right in. Chelsea looked ethereal in her dress, with Kirk right by her side. The results are dreamy, beautiful, inspiring pieces that might push you into the water on your wedding day.

Tom & Jess

It began as a rainy Friday in Southland, but this didn’t dampen any spirits as the clouds opened up to bring bright skies and a brilliant sunset. The wedding was beautiful, the perfect summer soiree set in a stunning marquee. As day turned to night, the light came on, music was turned up and the dance floor filled with the happy couple and their guests. They left, hand in hand, as husband and wife, to a procession of sparklers and it really was magical.

I was over the moon to shoot one of my favourite couples on their special day: the beautiful, caring, fun, lovely and adventurous, Tom and Jess. Tom, you are an incredible brother. And to Jess, you are gorgeous on the inside and out, and we are so excited to have you in the family.

This wedding was featured in New Zealand Weddings Magazine, Winter 2017.

Beulah & Jeremy

Beulah and Jeremy celebrated their love in a way that was uniquely, entirely, perfectly them. It started with an idyllic beach ceremony; waves kissing the shore, a soft sea breeze and a dreamy sky. There was a hike to a hidden setting, where the magic of a waterfall met the magic of a marriage. It wasn't easy, but the daring and spirited Beulah and Jeremy were up for it. The adventures continued, with an entrance to their reception that took everyone by surprise, a rocking party, and an epic ‘Drown the Gown’ moment.

I don’t have enough words for how amazing, exciting and totally authentic Beulah and Jeremy’s wedding was. They got caught in the waves, laughed and loved, and danced right into the night with their nearest and dearest. They are the perfect example of making your day truly yours.

Thailand - Chelsea & Kirk

Dip your toes into the warm sea, and feel the tropical breeze of this Thailand wedding. Kind, generous, fun-loving and Chelsea and Kirk are an epic couple who are a perfect match.

Chelsea and Kirk, along with their guests, partied under the palm trees, dined on the beach and danced under the night sky. At the end of the night, still dressed in all their finery, they jumped into the pool and straight into their honeymoon.

We didn't want to stop snapping or filming their journey. We had the most incredible time in Thailand, seeing Chelsea and Kirk in their element, celebrating their marriage and just making the most of every moment.

Christchurch - Cam & Erika

With longboards in one hand, and spouse in the other, Erika and Cam took it to the hills of Christchurch and let loose. Possibly the most well dressed skaters in the country, we loved that this couple let their personalities and hobbies come through in their creative shoot. We were happy to report that bride nor groom were harmed in the shoot, and we ventured down to Sumner beach to ‘Drown the Gown’. Being a nature and adventure loving pair, they welcomed the water and walked straight in. The elements are so inspiring, and it was the perfect setting to show their love, commitment and strength as a couple. The only thing you won’t be able to see... the little nippy crabs in the water!
